As we strive to build a better future, we have to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts our ancestors contributed in the past. In this workshop, we will be challenged to think of ways we might want to draw from some of those past efforts as we seek to rebuild our future. To build a sustainable future, we need to dismantle the foundational systems of oppression and replace them with ones rooted in equity and sustainability, but to do that we have to recognize past struggles toward those goals and learn from both their achievements and shortcomings. In this session we’ll discuss this idea and engage in creative writing and in imagining a world we want to live in and what it will take to get there.
